Decades working in the emergency services doesn’t just give the ability to live on caffeine alone. Experience of not only the day to day minutia of public service work, but exposure to major incidents*, extraordinarily hazardous situations, such as terrorist attacks, chemical suicides, or gas explosions, and working alongside specialist responders such as police firearm officers, has enabled the acquisition of a vast compendium of skills, knowledge and experience.

We all had to make changes during the pandemic, many people struck out on their own to start their own ventures. This is no easy task, and working alone can often lead to distractions and a reduction in productivity. Sometimes all you need is someone there to help you keep to a plan or schedule. Accountability Partnership can be a two way collaboration, both looking out to help each other achieve their goals. Targets don’t have to work related though, maybe there’s a marathon to train for, a party to arrange, perhaps there’s a book that wants to be written. Choosing someone outside of the circle of family and friends can help avoid those awkward yet honest conversations. Empathy is an often misunderstood skill in the arena of Accountability, and nobody wants to be made to feel as though they should have done better.

UX, (User eXperience), is an approach that encompasses all aspects of the end-user’s interaction with something that is designed, this could be something physical, like a chair, or something digital, like a phone app. It combines elements of design, psychology, research, technology and business to provide the best experience for the user. Clinical UX is a niche element of UX that relates to the interaction and experiences clinicians and patients have with healthcare technology and services.​

Whilst Clinical UX is a particular service Damian provides, the elements that make UX and Clinical UX are transferable across any field, and therefore contribute to providing the best possible experience for all involved.
