About Damian Sherman

A paramedic by trade,

an altruist, staunch mental health and mens health advocate, Damian was born and raised in East Anglia, England. His love of mountains, forests and the wildlife within often draws him to the Welsh and Scottish wilderness, and it was no surprise to some when he moved to Sweden to run a sled dog business. Although now back in England, he yearns to get back to Scandinavia to give him the chance to share what he found there.

Originally destined to join the Royal Air Force as a pilot, (he did gain his pilots licence through this), Damian moved towards a different area of public service, firstly as a Police Officer, then secondly, as a Paramedic.

He has never been one to sit still for long, always wishing to push his boundaries, experience new challenges, and improve at any given chance. This spirit saw him progress as a Paramedic, teaching Police Firearms Officers emergency medicine, become an Air Ambulance Paramedic, a solo responder at an international airport, and a team leader in both COVID vaccination hubs, and a specialist unit that responded to the most hazardous and dangerous incidents, such as plane crashes, bombings, fires, floods and collapsed buildings.

Intrinsically motivated, Damian has shown that following a different life path has brought him the peace and happiness that he wishes to share readily with others.

His service as a Paramedic left him with PTSD, through which he has learned that having a healthy life/work balance is key to both physical and mental well-being. Although at times, he still struggles to say no to opportunities, his resilience and determination will see him succeed, often in the face of adversity, and, often long after others have given up.

He aims to facilitate others learning and support them to work towards their goals by communicating what he has learnt throughout his vast experience and journey of life. He has the ability to engage an individual in any topic through his sheer enthusiasm and knowledge of the area.

On a lighter note, he is also a professionally trained Christmas Tree decorator, showing he can turn his hand to anything!.

Along with numerous television appearances, he is also featured in the best selling book ‘More Blood, More Sweat and Another Cup of Tea’ by Tom Reynolds and ‘Ambulance Emergency’ by Terry Lacey-Freeman.
